Backcountry is proud to be the exclusive US distributor for Stoic product.  The stoic offering starts at skin level with close fitting base layers and extends out to durable hardshell jackets—with a few key gear items added to the mix. For base layers Stoic relies on two proven fabric technologies: merino-wool and its own Breathe Composite material. Merino is nature’s wonder fabric. It breathes, insulates even when wet, and naturally repels odors—making it perfect for next-to-skin layers. Stoic also uses a merino-synthetic blend for a line of performance socks ranging from knee-high ski socks to no-show socks for desert trail runs. The Breathe Composite material is made from a blend of nylon, polyester, and lycra for maximum moisture control, breathability, and improved range of motion.  For shoulder-season outerwear and winter mid-layers, there’s a collection of softshell and fleece jackets that feature industry-leading fabric technologies from Polartec. For warmth on chilly days check out versatile synthetic insulation pieces like the Luft Anorak. When it comes to water-shedding outerwear, Stoic employs face fabrics that boast high waterproof and breathability ratings. For instance, the Vaporshell Jacket sheds water while offering a remarkable 46,000 g/m breathability rating—exactly what you need to stay comfortable while hiking in rainy conditions.  In addition to its collection of jackets, shirts, and pants, Stoic has complemented its lineup with essential gear for camping. With the Templum 3-season tent, comfy Burls Sleeping Pad, and the micro-fleece Camp Pillow, you’ll be set for a comfortable night of rest before another big day in the backcountry. We made the Stoic Women's Tech Fleece Jacket as a no-brainer for any cold-weather activity. We leave it by the front door from fall to spring, because we could be heading up to the ski resort or the nearest yoga studio, and this fashionable, functional fleece is sure to come. It's easy to layer with a ski shell for days at the resort, and thumbholes secure the sleeves when we're layering.
